Hello,

I live in Varese and I’m planning a two-day birthday trip to Switzerland with friends. I checked the website and saw the Day Pass option, but I have a few questions:

Can I take unlimited trains with this ticket for the day? (the route would be Varese-Zurich-Bern-Interlaken)
How does seat reservation work? Can I just hop on the train and pick a seat?
Do I need to show the ticket and the purchase receipt during inspection?
Can I use the pass for other types of transport? Is the ticket valid in Zurich?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help. I’m asking all this because is my first time there and I want the birthday celebration to be an awesome experience with the SBB. 🙂

These passes are valid from/to the border station of Cantello-Gaggiolo. In Switzerland unlimited.

You must show the ticket(s), everyone must also present a physical passport or identity card (not only photos).

And in Zurich I checked the map you said but just to be sure, I can use the Day Pass in the public transport there, right?

No, the Day Pass is not valid from Milano Centrale. You need a ticket until Chiasso. Pleas note that seat reservations are mandatory in Italy in the Eurocity trains and included with the ticket.
