Hello Faixozuen89
Please note that we cannot refer to facts here in the community, as we do not have detailed information about the payment cards used, issuers, device and browser settings, or add-on solutions used. For this reason, only general information and possible reasons can be provided.
Since the EU has legally required the use of 3DS2 with PSD2 since 2021, I do not think that the French and German cards will be rejected because of the 3DS2 request. Many issuers (banks) offer deactivations for regions or individual countries in the card settings in their online account. If the card is not approved for Switzerland, this would be another possible reason.
However, if you all use the same Wi-Fi, e.g. at school, the school may also use a proxy server and this will create the problems (see first answer for further possible device , browser and / or add-on reasons ).
If technical problems were reported by the website, this would be indicated by the IT on-call service as a warning/note on the website (and app).
Faixozuen89 I used my card foreign to buy a ticket on the sbb website two weeks ago. Has your system been recently updated to 3DS2? And now my all friends cannot to buy the tickets at your website.
No 3DS2 is not new and has been implemented for several years. Since we do not know which country your card came from, this was simply a hint. We cannot judge whether your card effectively supports 3DS2 or not. Depending on the PSP or issuer (bank), the 3DS2 flow may only have to/can only be initiated above a certain amount. The merchant has no influence on these regulations.
If it worked two weeks ago, I’d just try it later. For payment card transactions, different players (merchants, PSPs, acquirers, card network & issuers) must operate smoothly with each other for the transaction flow to work. Temporary disruptions can therefore occur at various locations outside the merchants’ sphere of influence.
Kind regards,
Nicole
