Price of GA Duo for U25

Hi,
Me and my girlfriend will move under the same roof and are both under 25. I didn’t understand from the website what’s the most convenient way to have two GA for our case.

Does GA Duo have a different price for young people? I only see the 2860CHF/y, which is higher than just buying a normal GA Young at 2780CHF/y.

Also can we have access to GA Family even if we’re not married and have no children? Would I pay the normal 2780 and she would pay just 970?

No, the GA Duo is not available as a Youth version.

No, the GA Familia needs at least a parent.

Are you sure you calculated correctly? Two GA Young would cost you 5560.- for both, which is e.g. 2030.- more expensive than 2 Halbtax Travelcards + 2 Halbtax Plus for Youth 3000 credits!

One single HT+ 3000 credit gets you 319 Nyon-GE Cornavin return tickets (you hopefully don’t work THAT much within one year!) and still 156 Nyon-Lausanne day passes, which would equal to approx. 3,5 commute days per week if also considering vacations/holidays/sick leaves (home office?) With 5 commute days per week to GE, even a HT+ 2000 (another 450.- cheaper) would be just used up approx. one week before it expires anyway.

For commuting Nyon to Lausanne, the easiest and probably also cheapest ticket is a Mobilis 10 zones annual abonnement for 2′376.-. If you are not travelling a lot, the Flex abo with 100 days per year is cheaper at 1320.-. This ticket allows you to travel on all trains between Nyon and Lausanne as well as within the cities of Lausanne and Nyon.
For commuting Nyon to Genève, it is a bit more complicated because this journey covers multiple tarif associations (Mobilis and Unireso). The cheapest option is just a route abonnement which costs 1215.- but only allows journeys on the trains between Nyon and Genève (IR and RE). It does not contain the busses, trams and Mouettes in Nyon or Genève.
If you wish to have those included as well, you can get a modular abonnement which could either also include the city of Genève, the city of Nyon or both of these. The prices of these are hard to calculate on the spot, but are cheaper than a two (or three) distinct abonnements and by far cheaper than a regular GA.
Note that these prices assume you are not young enough to qualify for reduced prices.
