Dietikon to Wasserauen

Hi, I would like to travel from Dietikon to Wasserauen and back. A single ticket costs 22 CHF, and a return ticket costs 44 CHF. Would it be possible to buy a Zurich 9 am day pass (13.50 CHF) and an Ostwind day pass (20 CHF) instead, for a total of 33.50 CHF?

No, this is not possible.
The combination of two fare network tickets is only possible when both fare networks cover one and the same station and the service stops at that station. Neither is the case in your example.

Actually, my question is: does the day pass cover travel from Winterthur to Wil?

Or in other words:
If using zone based regional fare network tickets instead of the regular point-to-point ticket for 22/44.-, you’d require some Z-Pass ticket which includes zones on both sides of the ZVV/Ostwind network border in order to cross that border. Unless your trains would stop exactly on that border, but that’s n/a on your route.
