Anonymous350 Hi I am taking a train from Como to Locarno and have purchased a day pass. I have bought a separate ticket for the segment from Como to Chiasso which included a reservation. How do I make a reservation for the Swiss section to Locarno without purchasing another ticket?
RolandP Hello Anonymous350 It is not possible to reserve seats on Swiss regional trains. This is mass transit, simply get on board and take a free seat. Please see: https://community.sbb.ch/blog/23887-demystifying-seat-reservations-on-swiss-trains-a-comprehensive-guide Kind regards, Roland
Krist Are you taking the direct Como - Locarno train? That is a regional train without seat reservations, so you probably do not have a reservation at all.
Anonymous350 Thank you for the quick responses. No I am not going direct to Locarno and booked this train because I wanted to reserve a seat. If it is not possible to reserve for the rest of the journey that is not a serious issue. But I was hoping it was possible. Thanks again
Krist It is unlikely someone will have reserved your seat from Chiasso to Lugano. So you can just stay seated. The in Lugano you change trains, and do what everybody does: just pick a free seat.
Krist Note that since your day pass is not valid on Italian trains the title of your post does not make that much sense…
